We’re a short to medium-term rental company that’s passionate about offering more than just a place to rest your head. Our properties are carefully chosen in desirable locations — the kind of places you’ll want to explore, relax in, or maybe even extend your stay a little longer for.
We believe comfort should be a given — plush bedding, tasteful decor, and all the practical touches that make a space feel like home. But then we take it up a notch. Barefoot & Board was founded by Emma and Jamie — partners in life and now in property — blending hands-on experience with heart, hard work, and a sharp eye for what makes a house feel like home.
Jamie brings over 30 years of expertise as a professional decorator, with a long-standing business and a reputation for quality craftsmanship. He knows what it takes to keep a property looking sharp, stylish, and showroom-ready — and he doesn’t cut corners.
Emma, with 15 years as a social worker, brings professionalism, calm under pressure, and a deep understanding of people. She’s worked in high-stakes environments with a wide range of professionals, and her approach is grounded, thoughtful, and full of heart.
She also happens to have a seriously creative streak — from jewellery-making to textured art and interiors, Emma has a love for design that shines through in every property we present. Her warmth, eye for detail, and genuine care are behind everything we do — and it shows.
As long-time landlords, we know the highs and lows — from late rent and leaky taps to the frustration of homes not being properly cared for. That’s exactly why we built Barefoot & Board: to do things differently.

Emma's house was great study for us. Everything was brand new . Nice bed and great garden view. Close to all the supermarkets. It's just perfect, definitely would come back!

Wow what a gem of a place! Beautifully newly decorated, super clean with everything you need. The kitchen had a lot of gadgets and utensils and a great coffee machine. The beds were super comfy with gorgeous bedding. Lots of lovely touches such as USB chargers next to the bed, books and games etc. all in all, a very classy place and I would have no hesitation recommending to others - you won't be disappointed! - Thanks Emma!
